Supply Drive at the Ohio Craft Museum
In conjunction with Shelter: Crafting a Safe Home, we are collecting a variety of items for people in need. We have partnered with three Central Ohio organizations and hope to collect the following items to donate the first week of October. Please bring your donations to the museum during regular hours (10-5 weekdays, 1-4 weekends). You can drop off in our donation basket near the front door, or ask a front desk attendant for assistance.
We are collecting shampoo, soap and other personal items for the YWCA Family Shelter and Faith Mission. All sizes of new items are welcome, but full-size containers are especially appreciated.
Bedding and Towels
Faith Mission has requested gently used and new bedding items, including blankets, sheets, pillow cases, towels, washcloths and pillows.
The Fruit of the Spirit Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Columbus has requested new school supplies for a program they sponsor in Kenya. They are requesting pencils, paper, crayons, pencil pouches and pencil sharpeners, plus teacher resources like flash cards, lap books and books with worksheets and lesson plans.
We are also collecting new and gently used hats, gloves and scarves in all sizes to donate to the YWCA Family Shelter.
Plastic Grocery Bags and Fleece Yardage
We have an ongoing service project in our new exhibition space. Stop in during your visit to help make fringed fleece blankets for the YWCA Family Shelter and plastic bedrolls for Faith Mission. We are collecting plastic grocery bags and fleece yardage (one yard or bigger) through September to contribute to this project. While you’re here, also make a wooden house ornament to display or take home, with donations going to the YWCA. This project sponsored in part by a Franklin County Community Arts Grant.
