Alchemy 4: International Exhibition of Contemporary Enamel

Showcased at the Ohio Craft Museum

September 17–October 20, 2017

(Columbus, Ohio)—The Ohio Craft Museum will present “Alchemy 4,” an international

exhibition of contemporary enamel works, September 17–October 20, 2017. The

exhibition showcases 150 exquisite jewelry, objects, sculpture and installations by 98

artists—professional and students—from around the world. Organized by the Enamelist

Society, this is the 16th international exhibition and the 12th juried student exhibition for

the organization.

Among the artists represented is North Carolina enamelist/metalsmith Linda Darty

creates vessels as well as jewelry. Her latest series, titled “Garden Badge,” is inspired by

the “sentimental value of old badge collections, and the memories they provide long after

they are worn,” she says. The work pays homage to her mother and her garden club.

“These badges pay tribute to their efforts to create and formalize a time in their lives to

celebrate beauty, community and friendship, while also expressing my ongoing

inspiration from nature.”

The museum will hold a closing reception on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 pm to 8:00

pm.
