41st Annual Fine Art and Fine Craft Fair
Returns with Holiday Gifts
Made in American Studios
December 1–3, 2017
(Columbus, OH)—The 41st annual Winterfair, the juried fair of fine art and fine
craft by over 400 artists from across the United States, will be held December 1–3
at the Ohio Exposition Center on the Ohio State Fairgrounds. Shoppers will find
functional pottery, blown glass, wearable art, fine jewelry, sculpture, painting,
photography and more.
“Winterfair is a fun, festive start to the holiday season, with unique gifts
handcrafted by artists from across the country,” commented Betty Talbott,
executive director of Ohio Designer Craftsmen, the organizers of the fair. Among
the exhibitors are a number of returning favorites along with many new artists.
Grove City graphic artist Evangelia Philippidis creates beautiful scratchboard
designs, while Columbus jewelry designers JD Davison and JD Shipengrover use
metalwork and laser cutters to make their science- and nature-inspired earrings,
necklaces and rings. Nashville, Tennessee, artist Clay Bush recycles seat belts, air
bags and buckles to make messenger bags, purses and wallets.
Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Arts Council, Ohio Designer Craftsmen has
offered booth scholarships to two artists with disabilities, Richard Furney and
Tim Prenzlin. Both work at Sunapple Studio, a division of ARC Industries. They
will be selling their drawings and paintings, as well as ceramics, at Winterfair.
Admission: $7; Ohio Designer Craftsmen members free; children 12 and under
