MAD CRAFTSMEN GALA

Ohio Designer Craftsmen’s Annual Gala

at the Ohio Craft Museum

Saturday, April 11, 2015

(Columbus, Ohio)—Check out the swanky digs in our 1960s-era building! We’ve polished the wood paneling, stirred the cocktails and hired a lounge player for a swell 60s soiree. We’re traveling back in time, Mad Crafts-Men style. “Don” your coolest mid-century fashions—cocktail couture and pearls, skinny ties, fedoras and Madison Avenue suits—and head to the Ohio Craft Museum for the “MAD CRAFTSMEN Gala,” the organization’s annual fundraising event, on Saturday, April 11. Guests will feast on neat-o fare from Columbus’s finest restaurants in the Mod Bar & Restaurant, and unwind with a cocktail at the Receptionist’s Lounge.

Throughout the evening, patrons can visit the silent auction in the “Make a Pitch” Boardroom to bid on contemporary fine craft generously donated by Ohio Designer Craftsmen artists. In addition, themed baskets will be raffled off during the evening. Lucky winners will take home items donated by area merchants and organizations, such as Hollywood Casino, Columbus Zoo, COSI, Big Fun Toy Store, Cameron Mitchell’s, Snap Fitness, Trader Joe’s, Dance Plus, Fortin Ironworks, Matt the Miller’s Tavern, Moe’s Southwest Grill, the French Loaf, Lifetime Fitness, Noodles and Co., Reed Arts, Sax Car Wash and Paper Source. Raffle tickets are 2 for $5 or 5 for $10.

The gala will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the museum, located at 1665 West Fifth Avenue in Columbus. Admission is just $39 per person; or $180 for patron tickets, which includes four admissions and reserved seating. For further information or to purchase tickets, telephone the Ohio Craft Museum at (614) 486-4402 or visit ohiocraft.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Proceeds from the event benefit the outstanding—and always free—exhibitions presented at the Ohio Craft Museum, such as the upcoming “Best of 2015,” our 32nd annual members’ exhibition. Gala patrons also support our numerous education programs, including our free workshops for children and their parents, summer camps for kids, and CraftView sessions for adults and teens.

Refreshments and decorations have been generously donated by Elevator Brewery and Draught Haus, Red Hook Grill, City BBQ, Jimmy John’s, Smokehouse Brewpub, Stan Evans Bakery, Posh Events Services, Pure Imagination Chocolatier, Local Cantina, Z Cucina, the Chocolate Café, Jimmy V’s, “M,” Winking Lizard, Mazah, Greek Express, Chipotle, Café del Mondo and Subway, among others.

The Ohio Craft Museum, at 1665 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212, is owned and operated by Ohio Designer Craftsmen, and receives ongoing funding from the Ohio Arts Council, the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Columbus Foundation. Hours are Monday–Friday, 10 A.M.–5 P.M.; and Saturday–Sunday, 1–4 P.M. Admission and parking are free. For further information, telephone (614) 486-4402; or see our website at www.ohiocraft.org.
