Upcoming Education Programs at the Ohio Craft Museum

Tuesday, February 9, 6–8 p.m.:Celebrate “Galentine’s Day” with a wineglass painting class at the Ohio Craft Museum. Bring your besties and join this fun and social painting workshop! Artist and educator Nan Hadley will help participants learn to paint their own unique design on a wineglass to keep for themselves or give to a Valentine. We’ll supply the glasses and the chocolate—participants can bring their beverage of choice. Fee: $14; ODC members, $12; includes paint, wineglass and all supplies. Wednesday, March 2, 6–9 p.m.: We are partnering with the Clay Café in Grandview to offer a CraftView Evening. Participants will use pre-made silk-screen graphics, combined with their own color choices, to make a plate or mug to celebrate spring. Fee: $22; ODC members, $20. February 28, March 5 and March 12, 1–3 p.m.: Annual Pysanki egg-decorating classes. Participants will work with local artist Carol Snyder to create intricate eggs using beeswax and a variety of colored dyes in a layered process. Open to adults and families with children ages 6 and up. Fee: $14; ODC members, $12. Pre-registration is required; telephone (614) 486-4402.

March 21–23:Spring Break Mini-Camp: Art Around the World. Young artists in grades 1–6 can explore craft from exotic locations, such as the villages of Mexico, hills of Ireland, shores of Japan and much more! A team of teaching artists will lead the adventure, presenting projects using a variety of materials, including clay, polymer, fiber and recycled objects. Half-day, full-day and after-care options available: $60–$110. Pre-registration is required; telephone (614) 486-4402.

The Ohio Craft Museum receives ongoing funding from the Ohio Arts Council, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, and the Columbus Foundation.
