Each one-of-a-kind piece of adaptive reuse tin jewelry is joyfully handcrafted by Christine Terrell from locally sourced, free-range decorative tins. It is a core principle that my little business treads as lightly on the planet as possible.
That’s why I use:
Locally sourced upcycled tin containers that most consider trash.
No precious or semi-precious materials.
Steel wire & surgical stainless steel ear wires.
Eco-friendly & recycleable packaging.

I am considered a folk artist. I have been painting for approximately 8 years. I am a dance educator in the CPS school. I became interested in visual art while constructing props for our performances. The heart of my work is reflected in narrative compositions of contemporary and historical daily life events of many African-Americans.

My husband Stanley and I met in the coal mines of West Virginia. When the mine we worked at eventually closed, we were forced to pursue other means of income. Through trial and error, we eventually found our calling when customers took a liking to the treenware we crafted. Only West Virginia hardwoods are used in our production process. Every piece is hand shaped, making every utensil one of a kind. All of our products are finished with a mixture of mineral oil and raw linseed oil. We recommend occasionally oiling our utensils, simply rub down liberally with olive or mineral oil and let sit overnight.

Martha is a functional potter, living in Bethel, Maine, creating thrown and altered porcelain pieces. She received an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Bennington College in Vermont and received a MFA in ceramics from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She thinks of the fluid visual movement around a piece, as a choreographer would move dancers across a stage. There is a sense of revealing and concealing, a layering of details that serves to catch our attention immediately and then the details draw us in, to make a closer inspection.
