Youth & Family Classes at the Ohio Craft Museum

The Ohio Craft Museum offers a variety of educational programming for children and families, such as Hand-in-Hand family workshops, summer camps, teen workshops, holiday gift-making workshops, spring break mini-camps and more. Think Spring!-Break Art Day
Wednesdays- March 15th (Class Full) or March 22nd (class cancelled)

Spring into a day of creative fun! A team of teaching artists will lead young artists in a variety of crafts that explore and incorporate the themes of spring, nature, growth and color, using materials such as recycled objects, fiber, paint, polymer and more.

Students in grades 1-6 will create two projects in the morning and two different ones in the afternoon. Sign up for either an all-day or half-day experience.

Half-day: 9:30 am-noon or 1:00-3:30 pm ……..$25
Full-day: 9:30 am-3:30 pm ………$45 (students bring a packed lunch)
After-care: 3:30-5:30 pm ………….$10

Pysanky Egg Workshop

Adult Only Class: Thursday, March 16th, 6:30-8:30 pm (2 spots open)

Adult & Child Classes: Saturday, March 18th, 10am-noon or 1-3 pm (AM & PM classes FULL)

Discover the art of Ukrainian Pysanky at our annual workshop! Columbus artist, Carol Snyder will lead you in creating these intricate eggs using beeswax and a variety of colored dyes in a layered, batik-like process. Adults, teens and families with children are invited to learn this age-old art form handed down over generations. **Please note: we’ll be working with hot wax and an open flame; children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult to take this class.

Class fee: $15 non-members/$13 for members
Children 6 and up: $7
Includes all the supplies needed.

Art Through Time – Grade 1-6

We are excited to announce that the Ohio Craft Museum is now offering an art program for home schoolers that will incorporate the foundations of art history in an interesting, fun, hands-on approach for young artists. Each month students will travel back in time and learn about art from a different point in history through various art projects. Activities will help develop creativity and critical thinking skills, using a variety of media, art elements, principles and techniques.
Classes will be offered the second Wednesday of each month from 1-3:00 p.m.
Fee per class: $10
Session 1:  November 9th – “Inside the Cave” – prehistoric art
Session 2:  December 14th – “Discoveries in the Tomb” – Egyptian Art
Session 3:  January 11th – “Natural Harmony” – Native American Arts
Session 4:  February 8th – “Hello, Fruit Face!” – Italian Art
Session 5:  March 8th – “Artful Experimentation” – Abstract Expressionism
Session 6: April 12th – “Build-It” – Exploring Architecture
Session 7: May 10th – “American Craft” – Folkart & Crafts in America
