Job Overview

This position provides accounting, budgetary and operational support to all Ohio Designer Craftsmen programs and activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintains Ohio Designer Craftsmen (ODC) financial records according to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Provides executive director with accurate monthly financial statements, and provides the Board Treasurer with quarterly financial statements, which are presented at Board meetings.
  • Responsible for annual audits, interfacing with the auditing firm, providing auditors with all required information and ensuring that audits are completed by September 30.
  • Oversees and is responsible for accuracy and transparency of all accounting functions.
  • Coordinates annual budget with director and produces final budget documents for Board approval.
  • Manages cash flow and advises Executive Director.
  • Provides reports and analyses that meet grant deadlines.
  • Oversees ticket sales and cash management at craft fairs.
  • Oversees building maintenance and compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations; insurance; maintenance of computers.
  • Pays routine bills and monthly invoices to artists and vendors.
  • Updates and maintains all personnel and financial files.
  • Handles payroll and employee benefits.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or a combination of experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting and payroll processing in accordance with the State of Ohio.
  • Knowledge of general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting software packages.
  • Communicate effectively; organizational skills a must.
