Summer Cycle Grants are now closed.
Ohio Designer Craftsmen’s rich legacy of supporting and promoting artists continues with our latest initiative, Quick Grants for Artists. We want to see every one of our members thriving and creating. We understand that steps like taking a class, updating equipment or having access to materials can make a huge difference in an artist’s professional development. That’s why we are offering grants (up to $500) with an easy application process and a quick turnaround.
Who is eligible?
- ODC professional artist members (2D and 3D) for the past six months or more
- Priority will be given to first-time applicants.
The following are NOT eligible:
- High School or College Students
- Performance-Based Artists (theater, dance, musicians)
- Time-Based Artists (film, video, animation)
- ODC Board or Staff Members
- Members who have received a grant in the previous cycle.
- Grant recipients who did not complete a final report.
What is funded?
- Workshops & Conferences (fees, lodging, travel)
- Tools
- Equipment
- Supplies/Materials
- Promotion of work (photography, website, printed materials)
Quick grants DO NOT fund:
- Booth Fees
- Exhibition Fees
- Shipping
- Vacation/inspirational travel
- Meals or Catering
- Rent
- Construction/Capital improvements
How it works
- Artist submits application & photos online.
- Committee reviews the application to ensure the request meets the guidelines.
- The artist receives notice of grant or letter of refusal.
- The check is sent.
- Artist submits a mandatory final report.
- Grant money needs to be expended within 4 months of receiving it (unless specific circumstances)
Timeline:
- 2 grant cycles per year
- Winter Cycle: Jan–June
- Summer Cycle: July–Nov
- Grants issued each cycle until funds run out; at which time, applications close until next cycle.
- Final report due 90 days after receipt of grant
