Learn How Our Feathered Friends Are Master Builders!
Studio artist Marcia Armstrong, joins us once again to talk about her newest exploration of the intersection of art and science. What are the elements we need for shelter and how do we access what is needed? We know when these needs are met, we have the ability to flourish.
This presentation will focus on translating the need for shelter through a series of bird nests installed along a metro park pathway. Each nest will incorporate more anthropogenic material than the preceding nest, illustrating not only the inaccessibility of proper nesting materials but also the ongoing need for good stewardship of our naturalized spaces. Class includes an engaging slide presentation, artwork display and Q&A.
This class is FREE with registration.

ABOUT THE ARTIST After years of being a studio artist, Marcia joined the Franklin County Master Gardeners program, where she was introduced to geobotany. Her fascination with the connections between what’s growing on top and what’s happening underneath has motivated her research of the combinination of micro-ecosystems and art.
