Ming Mei considers her life path as zig-zag stitches, swing between art and craft.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ming Mei learned techniques and philosophies of sewing from her mother who was a professional seamstress and ran a business from their living room.
She came to the United States in 1985 and graduated from Clemson University with MFA in printing making. In 2016, her quilts were featured in a solo exhibition in Taipei, thanks to her three sisters’ support. She now works out of her studio in Columbus, designing brightly pattered accessories including bags, purses, and other cell phone holders.
