My favorite thing about making art is the making. It’s the creative process that I love most and the discoveries that happen along the way. Nature inspires nearly everything I create. My work explores the beauty of objects whose histories are muddled, hidden and lost. Things that are old, dusty and weathered, handwritten words in forgotten volumes and stoic faces peering out from frozen snapshots. The bird-like figures who appear throughout are the guardians of it all. Guardians of dreams, guardians of history, guardians of people and place. Each piece is built from a collection of smaller parts and each smaller part is integral to the identity of the larger work. When it all comes together; the objects, the birds and the decorative marks, new identities are created, new stories are told and new treasures are born.

Dodie Eisenhauer, has been making her wire mesh and springy wire designs since 1989. Her daughter, Jenny Turner brought new and fresh energy to the business in 2010 with the introduction of jewelry and has taken over the business since her Dodie’s passing in 2020. Her pieces are created after she coils the wire, appearing to be a “spring”. Springerlee sounds the part but is really a type of German cookie. Her jewelry is made with silver plated copper wire. It has been permanently colored and made for jewelry. The Orbanizers, trees and larger items are made with steel wire. They will not rust.
Chris Rush
Berlin, MD
For nearly 40 years, Chris has been designing and producing unique note cards featuring her hand-drawn original designs embellished with tatted lace, which is also made by hand. The tatted lace as an integral part of the design and represents a key element of the overall artwork. Tatting is the age-old art of making delicate lace by hand, looping and knotting a single cotton thread using a small shuttle.
Kristin Morris
Columbus, OH
Kristin is a 3D mixed media artist who makes found object sculptures, as well as working with ceramics and Apoxie Sculpt. She is drawn to minute details in painting and sculpture, and is especially inspired by edgy, thought-provoking and “dark” art that borders on creepy. Halloween, Pop Art, Day of the Dead, carnivals and folk art influences her work. Through the use of bright colors, complex patterns and surrealistic themes, she aspires to transport the viewer to an offbeat fantasy world.
