Bio: Passion Works began as a collaborative community studio in 1998 where people with and without developmental differences made art together. The non-profit studio remains a trailblazer in creating integrated settings where people investigate their own talents and interests while participating in community-based programming and creative employment opportunities.

Artist: JENNY TURNER City: DAISY, MO Website: www.villagedesigns.com Bio: Dodie Eisenhauer, has been making her wire mesh and springy wire designs since 1989. Her daughter, Jenny Turner brought new and fresh energy to the business in 2010 with the introduction of jewelry and has taken over the business since her Dodie’s passing in 2020. Her pieces are created after she coils the wire, appearing to be a “spring”. Springerlee sounds the part but is really a type of German cookie. Her jewelry is made with silver plated copper wire. It has been permanently colored and made for jewelry. The Orbanizers, trees and larger items are made with steel wire. They will not rust. |

Bio: For nearly 40 years, Chris has been designing and producing unique note cards featuring her hand-drawn original designs embellished with tatted lace, which is also made by hand. The tatted lace as an integral part of the design and represents a key element of the overall artwork. Tatting is the age-old art of making delicate lace by hand, looping and knotting a single cotton thread using a small shuttle.
Rik Nelson

Bio: Rik began making his unique fish in the spring of 2000, the local Earth Day committee asked him to create and implement a “community art” project as part of their annual celebration. He constructed an 8′ w. x 15′ h. “poem board” with fabricated a four-foot long Bull trout from tin can lids was erected in Spokane’s Riverfront Park on Earth Day. He continues to make these unique pieces with upcycled materials in his studio in Spokane, Washington.
Kristin Morris

Bio: Kristin is a 3d mixed media artist who makes found object sculptures, as well as working with ceramics and Apoxie Sculpt. She is drawn to minute details in painting and sculpture, and is especially inspired by edgy, thought-provoking and “dark” art that borders on creepy. Halloween, Pop Art, Day of the Dead, carnivals and folk art influences her work. Through the use of bright colors, complex patterns and surrealistic themes, she aspires to transport the viewer to an offbeat fantasy world.

Bio: A pysanka (plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated using beeswax and dyes. The designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax. Pysanka specifically refers to an egg created by the written-wax method and utilizing traditional Slavic folk motifs and designs. Heather creates beautiful Pysanky ornaments using traditional methods and techniques.
